Cozumel

Cozumel is located on the eastern side of Mexico in the Caribbean sea.

You can get to Cozumel by flying into Cozumel International Airport or Cancun International Airport. You can also take a passenger boat from Playa del Carmen, which is south of Cancun, or travel by cruise ship from the U.S.A.

Explore the beautiful island of Cozumel. The Villa's south shore location is the prime spot to enjoy what Jacques Cousteau said is one of the largest coral reef formations in the world! Enjoy the snorkel and divers' haven, as well as other water sports such as kayaking and sailing. These activities are accessible at Playa Uvas beach or a 5 to 10 minute drive into downtown Cozumel. The Chankanaab National Underwater and Main Land Park is also a short walk away. You can also visit the Mayan ruins to learn about the history of Cozumel.

Scuba Diving in Cozumel

Jacques Cousteau, also famously known as the, “Father of Scuba Diving,” once said that Cozumel Mexico is “a diver’s paradise.” Cozumel is Mexico’s largest island in the Caribbean and beneath the crystal clear water sits the second largest coral reef in the world, the first being in Australia. Divers from all over the world travel to Cozumel just to dive the tepid and harmonious waters. Under Cozumel’s water, a diver is sure to find various magnificent aquamarine life ranging from rare plants, octopi, sea turtles, devil rays, sharks, caves, wrecks and much more.

Cozumel has multiple dive locations all around the island that accommodate divers of all skill levels. For example, for the more experienced diver, the diver can check out “La Garganta del Diablo” (The Devil’s Throat). The Devil’s Throat is located in Punta Sur and it’s a great cave dive that can go as deep as 137 feet. For the novice diver, the diver can visit Paradise Reef, which is a 30-40 foot dive. Of course, there are beach dives for those divers who have never been scuba diving before.

Whether you are professional diver or someone who has never been scuba diving before, Cozumel is one of the best places in the world to go scuba diving. However, one must always go diving with someone who knows the area well. It is important to have an experienced and licensed professional who knows the area well because the professional will know the water current, which sights have been disturbed by recent storms, and any high volume boat traffic areas that might be occurring on that dive day. For years we have trusted and highly recommended all of our clients to dive with Cozumel Scuba Planet. Cozumel Scuba Planet has experienced divers, instructors and boat crews to make each and every single scuba diving experience unforgettable. Cozumel Scuba Planet offers good rates, comfortable boats, included lunch, and has equipment available for rent if needed. Cozumel Scuba Planet also offers snorkel tours for those people who prefer not to scuba dive. Therefore, everyone in that party can have an enjoyable experience in Cozumel’s waters. For more information on how to plan a fun, comfortable and most importantly, a safe scuba dive tour, please contact Cozumel Scuba Planet at, info@cozumelscubaplanet.com, +52-987-876-1001 or visit cozumelscubaplanet.com.
